For optimal performance, a minimum of 8 wires should be used when connecting the A2081 to the A4500B. With the use of standard Cat5 cable, the plate can be positioned up to 30m away from the main unit. For longer distances of up to 100m, heavier gauge cable must be used to ensure proper voltage drop and LED illumination. The Alert/Evac/Chime/Cancel switches on the wall plate are directly connected to their corresponding contacts on the A4500B, while the Alert, Evac, and Bell LEDs are connected to the corresponding 24V outputs.
