8 Port AES50 Extender and Multiplexer with up to 1000 Metre Range
The DN9680 offers a solution to the 100-meter limitation imposed on AES50 networks by Ethernet and CAT5 cabling, with its high channel count. With a pair of DN9680 units, you can extend up to eight AES50 connections (192 bidirectional channels) by as much as 1,000 meters via single-mode optical fiber or 100 meters via CAT5 copper cable. This simplifies long-haul cable connections with the use of a single bidirectional snake cable.
DN9680 functions as a bidirectional multiplexer and demultiplexer, combining eight incoming AES50 streams into the outgoing snake connection. It also unbundles the eight AES50 streams from the incoming snake connection and routes them to the corresponding AES50 ports. A snake system consisting of a pair of DN9680 units routes incoming AES50 streams to outgoing streams on a one-to-one port basis, making the snake transparent in use, with only a small propagation delay of 250 microseconds.
