Redback 2 Relay (High Current) Control Box, Suit A6500 A6515

Description

This control box is intended for use with the Redback Touch programmable touchscreen wallplates. It can function independently or serve as an expansion hub for the A 6505A. The box contains 2 relays with a high current capacity of 16A each, and their voltage free contacts are isolated and closed during operation.

When paired with a Redback Touch wallplate, the wallplate is easily connected through a Cat5/6 cable that can span up to 50m. Instructions from the programmed wallplate are then relayed to this central hub, and the corresponding RS232/485 command signals are conveyed through the pluggable terminals. This feature is ideal for managing AV systems in educational or professional settings such as classrooms, lecture theatres, and board rooms. The hub also includes serial outputs that can be utilized to control projectors and amplifiers. Power is supplied by a 24V DC source, which in turn energizes the connected wallplate.

The relay hub can be used in three ways:
  1. Direct connection via Cat5/6 UTP cable to a Redback Touch wallplate, which is programmed to control relay activation.
  2. As an expansion to the A 6505A hub, increasing the total number of relay contacts from 3 to 15. In this configuration, one of the serial outputs of the A 6505A would be used to control the A 6510. These hubs should be located as close together as possible.
  3. As a standalone serial controlled relay hub for use with any third party system utilising RS232/485.
