Preset OperationThe Redback A4480B Audio Matrix Switcher features six user presets for easily recalling regularly used configurations. Presets one to four are programmable by the user and can be accessed at any time. Preset five serves as a convenient "last setting" option before a new preset is loaded, allowing for a quick return to a previous system configuration. Preset six serves as a backup of the initial system configuration. Users can select presets from the front panel or remotely by using the A 4476 preset selection wallplate.Input and Output OperationThis system can support 8 zone paging consoles, 8 local zone inputs, 1 emergency paging input, 1 alert/evac input, and 8 auxiliary audio source inputs. Each auxiliary input has a selectable sensitivity range of 0.3 to 0.7V and can be routed to any individual zone or combination of zones. Additionally, each input is equipped with volume, treble, and bass controls, as well as a signal presence indicator. The programmable display clearly shows the selected input and its corresponding outputs.The A4475 wallplate allows for remote selection of auxiliary inputs in each zone (maximum one per zone) when connected via Cat 5 cable. This wallplate allows for selecting any auxiliary source and adjusting the local level.A 4478 local input wallplate can be added to each zone for connecting local mic or line audio sources. This wallplate is compatible with the A 4475 program selection wallplate.Specialized volume controls and signal indicators ensure tamper-proof operation for emergency paging and alert/evac signals. Closing contacts initiate the alert/evac signal.Each output is equipped with volume controls and features 3-pin balanced line level XLRs, totaling 8 outputs.Program IsolateThis feature enables the "blocking" of chosen RCA audio inputs to designated zones. This has no impact on paging or tones.Priority Muting OperationThe Redback A4480B is a high-quality audio matrix switcher made in Australia, designed to efficiently handle 8 inputs and 8 outputs. With its priority muting system, this device ensures that appropriate signals are routed to designated zones based on the condition of the system. For instance, in an emergency paging mode, all inputs, including alert and evacuation signals, are muted to allow for live announcements through the paging microphone. In alert/evac mode, all inputs are muted, allowing for tones and recorded messages to be played throughout all zones. This functionality makes the A4480B a reliable choice for any professional audio setup. In the zone paging mode, auxiliary signals will be muted when a local input is connected through the optional A4478 wallplate. This prevents interruptions during functions or events and can be prohibited via the front panel's PA on/off function.
