The Redback Communicator is a highly versatile paging system controller that utilizes cutting-edge microprocessor technology to switch between 100V line level or low level balanced line signals. This dynamic and expandable device is the culmination of extensive development and input from professional sound contractors.

Optimal for managing paging and background music (BGM) functionality in expansive PA systems with up to 16 zones (can be increased to 32 zones by adding a second A 4580), including educational institutions, industrial facilities, commercial hubs, air transportation hubs, hospitality establishments, athletic facilities, and corporate complexes.

The A 4580 serves as a primary control hub for a paging system, housing essential circuitry for switching. Background music can be easily turned on or off for any zone using the conveniently located selection switches on the front panel.

When used with the A 4660 paging console, the Redback 16 Zone Paging System Switch Box A4580 allows for both individual and simultaneous paging of each zone through the All-Call function. This switch box also offers a "macro" function that lets you assign a button for easier and faster operation of multiple zones. With a maximum of 8 connected paging consoles across 4 circuits (with a maximum of 2 per circuit), this system offers expansive coverage.

Note: Additional power injectors (Redback A 4658) may be necessary in scenarios where the system has more than four paging consoles connected or for cable runs that exceed a certain length.

The Redback A 4580 seamlessly integrates with the A 4565B Alert/Evac controller, enabling the use of industry-standard tones in all zones upon activation through the EVAC Input on the rear panel. It also offers the option of utilizing this input for telephone paging purposes.

When configured at 100V, this system supports 1 or 2 amplifiers and enables flexible distribution of background music (BGM) and paging to any desired zone. Please note, when paging to one zone, BGM will be momentarily suspended for all zones. If using separate PA and BGM amplifiers, BGM will remain uninterrupted while paging is selected for individual zones.

When used in a low level balanced line setup, the Redback 16 Zone Paging System Switch Box A4580 allows for individual amplifiers to be used in each zone. This enables each zone's speaker circuit to receive separate music programs and local paging sources. Additionally, the microphone consoles can page individual zone amplifiers as needed.

The Redback 16 Zone Paging System Switch Box A4580 can support up to eight paging consoles on four separate circuits, with a capacity of two consoles per circuit. This console has the capability to operate from four to 32 zones in increments of four, with the option to add a second A4580 communicator for zones 17-32. In addition, zones can be locked out for non-use or to restrict user access as needed.

Choose between pre-announcement and post-announcement chime or message options, available through the console menu interface and in MP3 format.

When a zone is selected, it will be indicated by an illuminated light. To cancel a selected zone, you can press the zone switch again, use the cancel switch, or it will automatically cancel after 10 seconds of no use.

A standard feature on all microphone consoles is a busy indicator that signals when the system is being used by another user.

The zones and installer label can be personalized through the console menu interface.
